A Payment System of Our Own

Agorawr is a payment system of our own built by the Artconomy community. The years of being told what we can draw, buy, and sell by Stripe and PayPal are coming to an end.

Why do we need Agorawr?

Since the beginning of online commerce, gatekeepers have decided what you can buy and sell online. They have elected to do this even for lawful sales. They have abused their position to enforce their personal views on you and impact your ability to express yourself, and to transact with others consensually.

Agorawr gives us an alternative. It makes it possible to buy and sell online, with real money, while staying safe.

What is it?

Agorawr is a collection of tools, guides, and applications that make it possible for anyone to buy and sell safely online. It will include payment processing tools, an example marketplace, and walkthroughs. Agorawr also refers to the community around this effort, helping each other learn how to use these tools and setting up independent marketplaces that can buy and sell freely.

All of it is open source and copy-left. So it is yours to have and use, and can't be rugpulled by corporate interests.

How can you follow the project?

Agorawr is built out of the Artconomy.com community, and the best place to follow us at current is the Artconomy Discord. You can also follow us on BlueSky or the Fediverse.
